Tatopani means "hot water" in Nepali, and this village in the lower Kali Gandaki valley, in Myagdi district, is famous for its natural hot springs beside the river. For decades it has been a favourite rest stop for trekkers coming down from Jomsom on the Annapurna Circuit, or climbing up to Ghorepani and Poon Hill. Its warm, low-lying climate means orange groves and banana trees.

Quick answer: Tatopani (about 1,190 m) is reached by road from Beni or Jomsom, or on foot from Ghorepani (a long descent). Soak in the hot springs and enjoy the warm valley. ACAP permit required.
