The Koshi Barrage spans the Koshi River, Nepal's largest, at Bhimnagar on the border with India. Completed in the early 1960s for irrigation and flood control, it is now famous among birders: in winter, ducks, gulls, terns and waders gather on the water just south of Koshi Tappu.

Quick answer: Visit at dawn between November and March with binoculars. Combine with Koshi Tappu and Barahakshetra.
