Jiri, at about 1,900 m in Dolakha, is the starting point of the classic walk-in to the Everest region, used by expeditions before Lukla airport and still loved by trekkers who prefer to walk. Swiss development projects helped build its road and dairy in past decades.

Quick answer: From Jiri it is about 6–8 days of walking to Lukla through ridges, forests and villages, before joining the main trail to Namche. See EBC without the Lukla flight.
