Quick answer: Ilam is about 3–4 hours by road from Bhadrapur airport (about 45 minutes' flight from Kathmandu). Visit the tea gardens at Kanyam, watch sunrise from Antu Danda, and see Mai Pokhari. Best time: October–April.
