Chukhung is a cluster of lodges at about 4,730 m in the Imja valley, east of Dingboche, surrounded by the walls of Lhotse, Ama Dablam and Island Peak. It is the starting point for Island Peak climbs and the Kongma La pass.

Quick answer: Most trekkers visit Chukhung from Dingboche as an acclimatisation day, or climb Chukhung Ri (about 5,550 m) for one of the region's great panoramas.
