Chitlang is a peaceful farming valley in Makwanpur district, just beyond the Kathmandu Valley rim. It lies on the old walking route that traders, porters and even early visitors used to reach Kathmandu from the plains. Today it is known for village homestays, goat cheese, orchards and its proximity to Kulekhani (Indrasarovar) reservoir.

Quick answer: Chitlang is about 2–3 hours by road from Kathmandu, or reachable on foot over the hills. Stay in a homestay, taste local cheese, and visit Kulekhani lake. Best time: October–April.
