Sarangkot is the ridge rising above the north side of Phewa Lake, at about 1,600 m. At dawn, crowds gather on its viewpoints to watch the first light hit Dhaulagiri, the Annapurnas and Machhapuchhre, while the lake and city are still in shadow below.

Later in the day, it becomes the take-off point for Pokhara's famous paragliding flights.

Quick answer: Sarangkot (about 1,600 m) is 30–40 minutes by road from Lakeside, or a 1.5–2 hour hike. Go for sunrise and come back for paragliding. Best views: October–March.
