Manang, at about 3,540 m, is the largest village in the upper Marsyangdi valley and the main acclimatisation stop on the Annapurna Circuit before Thorong La. Stone houses with flat roofs face the glaciers of Gangapurna and the Annapurna range across the valley.

Quick answer: Manang (about 3,540 m) is reached on the Annapurna Circuit, or by jeep from Besisahar. Spend 1–2 nights acclimatising with hikes to Gangapurna Lake, Ice Lake or Praken Gompa. It is the base for Tilicho Lake.
