Kalinchowk is a high ridge in Dolakha district crowned by the temple of Kalinchowk Bhagwati, at about 3,800 m. It is hugely popular with Nepali travellers, especially in winter when it is one of the easiest places near Kathmandu to see snow, and on clear days the views of Gauri Shankar and the Rolwaling and Langtang ranges are superb.

Quick answer: Kalinchowk is about 5–6 hours by road from Kathmandu to Kuri village, then a steep climb (a cable car now runs part of the way) to the temple at about 3,800 m. Snow is common from December to February. Dress warmly and ascend slowly.
