Gokarneshwar Mahadev is a temple to Shiva on the banks of the Bagmati at Gokarna, in the north-east of the Kathmandu Valley. Its courtyard is full of old stone sculptures of Hindu gods. On Gokarna Aunsi, Nepal's Father's Day, people come to honour fathers who have died.

Quick answer: Gokarna is about 30–45 minutes from central Kathmandu, beyond Boudhanath. Combine with Kopan or Sankhu.
