Dho Tarap is one of the highest permanently inhabited villages in Nepal, at about 4,000 m in the Tarap valley of Dolpo. Its people follow Tibetan Buddhism and the older Bon religion, herd yaks and grow barley in a short summer.
Quick answer: Dho Tarap is reached on the Lower Dolpo trek from Juphal, which needs a restricted area permit and a licensed guide. Go between May and October.
