North of Lo Manthang, the Chhoser valley is lined with cave dwellings cut into soft cliffs. The best known, Jhong Cave, is a multi-storey complex of rooms connected by passages and ladders. Mustang's "sky caves" have revealed ancient burials and manuscripts.
