Australian Camp is a grassy ridge at about 2,060 m above Kande, about an hour's drive from Pokhara. Nearby Dhampus (about 1,650 m) is a Gurung village with lodges. Both face a wall of peaks from Annapurna South to Machhapuchhre.

Quick answer: Walk up from Kande in about 1–1.5 hours. Stay overnight for sunset and sunrise, then walk to Dhampus and down to Phedi. It is ideal for families and first-timers.
