On 12 May 2015, seventeen days after the Gorkha earthquake, a second major quake of magnitude 7.3 struck eastern Nepal, with its epicentre between Dolakha and Sindhupalchok, near the Tibet border. More than 150 people were killed in Nepal, and many buildings already weakened by the first quake collapsed.

Recovery
