Natural hot water springs in Nepal

After days on the trail, few things feel better than a soak in a natural hot spring. In Nepal, hot springs are called tatopani ("hot water"). The best known are Tatopani in Myagdi, on the road between Beni and Jomsom, the riverside pools at Jhinu Danda on the Annapurna Base Camp trek, and Tatopani on the Tamang Heritage Trail near the Tibetan border.

Most pools are simple concrete tanks fed by the spring, with a small entry fee. Bring swimwear and sandals, and respect local customs on modest dress.
