Hot air balloon in Nepal
Commercial hot air balloon flights have operated in Pokhara since November 2018. Early in the morning, when the air is calm, the balloon rises over the Pokhara Valley and Phewa Lake for a flight of about 30–40 minutes, with Machhapuchhre, the Annapurnas and Dhaulagiri lit by the rising sun.
Flights depend on the weather and are best from October to April. Book a day or two ahead and keep a spare morning in case of cancellation.
