Commercial hot air balloon flights have operated in **Pokhara** since November 2018. Early in the morning, when the air is calm, the balloon rises over the **Pokhara Valley** and **Phewa Lake** for a flight of about **30–40 minutes**, with **Machhapuchhre**, the **Annapurnas** and **Dhaulagiri** lit by the rising sun.

Flights depend on the weather and are best from October to April. Book a day or two ahead and keep a spare morning in case of cancellation.
